Full Story : You pushed my mother!… Alejandro came out soaked from the pool and went straight to Victoria.
“You pushed my mother!”
Alejandro climbed out of the swimming pool so fast that water streamed from his clothes onto the stone terrace.
Victoria stood near the edge, frozen.
On the ground beside a toppled chair, Carmen pressed one hand against her shoulder.
Guests stopped talking.
Alejandro crossed the terrace barefoot.
“Mom!”
“I’m fine,” Carmen whispered.
He crouched beside her.
“You’re bleeding.”
A thin line of blood ran from her elbow.

Alejandro looked at Victoria.
“What did you do?”
Victoria lifted both hands.
“She slipped.”
Carmen looked at her.
“No, I didn’t.”
The words changed everything.
Victoria’s face tightened.
Alejandro stood.
“Tell me what happened.”
Victoria glanced toward the guests around the pool.
“This is not the place.”
“You made it the place.”
Carmen tried to stand.
Alejandro helped her into a chair.
The party had been Victoria’s idea. She was Alejandro’s fiancée, and their wedding was three weeks away.
Now Carmen looked terrified.
“Why were you arguing?” he asked.
Carmen reached into her cardigan pocket.
Victoria stepped forward.
“Don’t.”
Alejandro moved between them.
“What is she carrying?”
Carmen removed a drive.
Victoria’s composure cracked.
“Give me that.”
“No.”
“You have no idea what you’re doing.”
Carmen placed the drive in Alejandro’s wet hand.
“I found this in your father’s desk.”
Alejandro stopped breathing.
His father, Gabriel, had died nine months earlier after falling from the balcony of his downtown office.
Police ruled it an accident.
Victoria had been Gabriel’s executive assistant before she began dating Alejandro six months after the funeral.
Now she whispered, “Your father was afraid of her.”
Victoria laughed.
“That’s insane.”
Carmen pointed at the drive.
“Open it.”
One guest, Daniel Cross, handed Alejandro his phone.
“It has an adapter.”
Alejandro connected the drive.
Folders appeared.
Bank statements.
Emails.
Audio files.
He opened the first recording.
Gabriel’s voice played through the phone.
“If something happens to me, Victoria Hale is involved.”
A gasp moved through the terrace.
Victoria went pale.
The recording continued.
Gabriel explained that someone had been stealing money from the Vega Foundation.
Nearly five million dollars had been transferred through fake consulting companies.
Gabriel traced the accounts to Victoria’s brother.
He confronted her two days before his death.
Alejandro’s hands shook.
“You knew?”
Victoria recovered quickly.
“Your father was confused. He was under enormous stress.”
Carmen shook her head.
“He wasn’t confused.”
She pointed toward another file.
Alejandro opened it.
Security footage appeared.
Gabriel’s office balcony.
Victoria stood facing him.
There was no audio, but the argument was obvious.
Gabriel tried to walk inside.
Victoria blocked him.
He moved around her.
She grabbed his jacket.
Then the video stopped.
Alejandro looked up.
“Where’s the rest?”
“Deleted,” Carmen said.
Victoria exhaled.
“Exactly. It proves nothing.”
Carmen’s eyes filled with tears.
“I found the backup.”
Victoria froze.
Alejandro turned.
“What backup?”
“Your father’s security system saved recordings to a private cloud account.”
Carmen produced a folded paper containing a password.
Victoria lunged toward her.
Alejandro caught her wrist.
“Enough.”
She struggled.
“Let me go!”
“You pushed my mother because she found this?”
Victoria’s breathing became ragged.
“She was going to ruin everything.”
There it was.
Not denial.
Fear.
Carmen looked at Alejandro.
“She followed me outside after I said I was giving you the files.”
Victoria shouted, “Because you were poisoning him against me!”
“You already did that yourself.”
Alejandro opened the cloud account.
The missing footage loaded.
Everyone watched.
Gabriel stepped onto the balcony.
Victoria followed.
Gabriel held up a folder.
The recovered audio was faint but clear.
“I’m reporting the transfers tomorrow.”
Victoria said, “If you do that, my brother goes to prison.”
“That is his problem.”
“And mine.”
Gabriel turned toward the door.
Victoria grabbed him.
He pushed her hands away.
She shoved him.
Gabriel stumbled backward.
His body struck the railing.
For one second, he balanced there.
Victoria reached forward.
Too late.
Gabriel disappeared over the edge.
Carmen began sobbing.
Alejandro could not move.
Victoria whispered, “It was an accident.”
He looked at her as if he had never seen her before.
“You told me he was alone.”
“I panicked.”
“You came to his funeral.”
“I loved you.”
Alejandro laughed once, broken.
“You stood beside me while I buried him.”
Victoria began crying.
“I never meant to kill him.”
“And today?”
She looked toward Carmen.
“I only wanted the drive.”
“So you pushed her too.”
“She wouldn’t listen.”
Sirens sounded beyond the estate gates.
Carmen looked at Alejandro.
“I called the police before I came outside.”
Victoria’s face collapsed.
Detective Sarah Morgan entered the terrace with two officers.
Victoria did not resist when they handcuffed her.
As she passed Alejandro, she whispered, “Please remember I loved you.”
He looked at Carmen’s bleeding arm.
Then at Gabriel frozen on the phone screen.
“No,” he said. “You loved what you could control.”
Months later, Victoria pleaded guilty to manslaughter, fraud, and assault.
Her brother was charged with conspiracy and money laundering.
Most of the stolen foundation money was recovered.
Alejandro canceled the wedding.
One evening, he returned to the pool with Carmen.
She sat beside the water, her shoulder finally healed.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
“For what?”
“For thinking you hated her because you were jealous.”
Carmen smiled sadly.
“I did hate her.”
Alejandro looked surprised.
“After I learned the truth.”
He nodded.
Then Carmen took his hand.
“You came out of that pool ready to defend me.”
“I should have defended you sooner.”
“You didn’t know.”
He looked toward the terrace where everything had changed.
“I knew enough to ask questions. I just didn’t want the answers.”
Carmen squeezed his fingers.
The pool reflected the evening sky, peaceful again.
Alejandro never forgot the moment he climbed from the water and saw his mother on the ground.
At first, he thought the worst thing Victoria had done was push Carmen.

Seconds later, he learned one shove had only exposed another.
This time, nobody was going to let her call it an accident.
